About "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark"

What are you afraid of?  The dark?  Deep water?  Speaking in public?

We all have things we're afraid of, things we don't want to talk about.  But the best thing to do is face your fears, put them out of their closets and into the light.

For the first part, that's what this is all about:  I'm looking at the things that bother me, make me afraid, or just piss me off, and I'm going to write about them.  I'm putting them right out in the open, calling a spade a spade, and the hell with the consequences.

Granted, I want to make people upset, or angry, or afraid.  I want to be politically correct, but sometimes a swift kick in the rump will get a better response than reason.  So I invite you to comment on what you see, put your own stamp on the thing, make a stand.

For the second part, I want to hone my craft as a writer.  Since I write mostly fiction, the things that fall into this category will mostly be obvious -- short stories or creepy anecdotes.  But, if I can do my job just right, you might not be able to tell the difference.

If I can help someone bring their demons into the light, make them think, or entertain them, I've been successful.
